Appdome and ImmuniWeb have announced a new initiative that aims to find and remediate mobile application security vulnerabilities. The joint initiative, MobileTRUST, is an attempt to provide developers with a simple and reliable solution for rapid application security validation.
Appdome is a no-code IPaaS solutions provider that operates a mobile app security suite that will be utilized by MobileTRUST for the remediation of vulnerabilities. ImmuniWeb offers an application scanning tool that uses AI to detect security issues.
Using MobileTRUST, developers will be able to upload any app binary (.apk or .ipa) and have ImmuniWeb’s scanning solution check for vulnerabilities. After any issues are found and categorized the solution will use Appdome’s security suite to fix all applicable issues. The companies involved hope that this process will prove reliable and consistent. The announcement of the venture noted:
“ImmuniWeb and Appdome address a key pain point for mobile app developers, who are struggling to rapidly release new and updated apps that are also secure,” said Ilia Kolochenko, CEO at ImmuniWeb. “The MobileTRUST Alliance’s goal is to make finding and fixing mobile app security vulnerabilities a simple and effective process, so developers can focus on what they do best: delivering compelling features to delight their customers.”
The announcement noted that these two initial partners are just the beginning, with additional members expected to be announced in the near future. MobileTRUST is planning on utilizing the skillsets of these additional partners to add various solutions including crowdsourcing, bug bounty programs, penetration testing, and more. Companies interested in partnering with the initiative can contact Appdome for more information.
